Three NGOs provide borehole to Adorkrom township

Agona Adorkrom (C/R), June 7, GNA – African Heatwood Project, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has constructed a borehole for the people of Adorkrom in Agona East District of the Central Region.

Mr Andy Jones, Chief Executive Officer of the organisation who was speaking at the inauguration of the project expressed the hope that the facility would go a long way to improve upon sanitation in the town and prevent the people from contracting communicable diseases.

He urged the people to manage the facility well.

The project was through the initiative of Mr Samuel Richard Ziggah, Presiding Member of Agona East District Assembly, with the support of two other NGOs-Positive Action in Human Development and Aquago Ghana Limited. Mr Ziggah who is also the Assembly Member for Agona Ninta, Ofunase and Adorkrom Electoral Area, expressed gratitude for the project and advised the people to adopt the facility as their personal property and protect it.

Mr Kofi Forson, Chief Executive Officer of Aquago Ghana Limited and Madam Gladys Yamoah of Positive Action in Human Development appealed to the people to maintain the facility regularly to prolong its lifespan.

The two NGOs have supported the construction of similar boreholes at Seth Okori Ogyanhyewoam, Kofi Takyikrom and Ahentasu.

Nana Kwesi Bouabeng II, Odikro of Adorkrom thanked the NGOs and others who contributed towards the project.

He also appealed to the Government and the Assembly to expedite action on the extension of the National Electricity Grid as well as the construction of access roads to the town.
