The PPP wishes all Moslems Happy Eid ul-Fitr

The Progressive People’s Party, PPP joins our Moslem brothers and sisters in celebrating the successful end of the fasting period in the 9th month of Ramadan. The fasting period offers s an opportunity to deepen our spiritual relationship with almighty Allah, seek purity and do right to all manner of persons.
This year’s festival is significant because it is happening in an election year. We urge our Moslem brothers and sisters to continue to pray for peace and unity in the country especially as we approach the December 2012 elections. We should shun politicians who use insulting language, promote violence and sow seeds of division in the country.
We call on all Moslems to help make our nation capable, great and strong on the occasion of the celebration of Eid ul-Fitr by voting for competent and incorruptible leadership this year. Ghana needs leaders with the capacity to transform all our communities by providing every Ghanaian with the basic necessities of life such as education, health care and jobs to make life meaningful and fulfilling.
On our part, the PPP aims to build a nation state based on the principle of inclusiveness and giving opportunity to every Ghanaian irrespective religion, ethnicity and gender.
Happy Eid ul-Fitr!
Kofi Asamoah-Siaw
National Secretary, PPP
