To date no indication has been given about the date for Ghana’s 1996 Budget statement.
The statement which is usually made in January is meant to be the main enabling instrument for the collection of taxes for the calender year commencing 1 January 1996.
No one within or outside the NDC govt is able to confirm the date that the statement will be read to the Ghanaian populace, albeit some indicate that it can be read as early as this week, while others say as late as March.
The Ghana High Commission in London has been unable to indicate the date to GRi.
