Terror threat: Atta Akyea calls for tight security at JB’s funeral

Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Mr. Atta Akyea, has charged the police to provide adequate security for MPs and Ghanaians during the funeral of late Joseph Boakye Dankwah Adu.

The funeral comes off at the State House in Accra on Friday.

The call comes in the wake of a prophecy by Nigerian televangelist, TB Joshua that either Ghana or Nigeria will experience a terrorist attack between Thursday and Saturday.

The prophecy also advised people in the two countries to stay away from mammoth public gatherings which normally serve as fertile grounds for terrorists.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with atinkaonline, the Abuakwa South legislator said with the current prophecy about a possible terrorist attack on Ghana a toast of public debate, and the security precaution that people refrain from public gathering, it will be appropriate for the police and military to be vigilant on that day and provide adequate security to prevent a double disaster.

The astute lawyer added that, it will be a bad omen for the country to be hit by a disaster on the day Ghanaians mourn the demise of the nobleman who was murdered.

Atta Akyea further invited friends, sympathizers as well as well-wishers to come and mourn the late MP.

JB Dankwa’s mortal remains will be laid in state for public reviewing on Friday and Saturday. The corpse will then be transported to his hometown at Akyem Tafo in the Eastern region for burial on Saturday. A thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday at Tafo.
