Evans Obeng Nyarko, a 29-year old teacher of the SDA Basic School at Drobonso, in the Sekyere Afram Plains District, who allegedly defiled and impregnated a 14-year old pupil, has been granted bail in the sum of 10,000 Ghana Cedis, by the Kumawu Circuit Court.

He denied the charge, and will come back to the court on July 8, for hearing to continue.

Police Inspector Paul Kludze, told the Court that Mr Fuseinin Donkor, the District Chief Executive (DCE) is the complainant in the case which happened in April.

The Court presided over by Mr. Benjamin Osei further heard that the accused person, a class five teacher, was returning from town to his residence when he spotted the girl.

He asked her to see him off, which the girl obliged due to the respect she has for her teacher.

The accused person who had other ideas lured the unsuspecting girl into his room and had sex with her.

The court was told that the accused person had two more sexual intercourse with the girl on separate occasions, impregnating her.

The victim then reported the pregnancy and how it happened to her parents, who in turn informed the DCE and the case was reported to the Kumawu Police.

After police investigations, the accused person was charged and arraigned.

Inspector Kludze said teacher Obeng was arrested and charged after investigations.
