Tamale Teaching Hospital suspends laboratory privatization

Management of the Tamale Teaching hospital has halted the plan to privatize the facility’s laboratory following workers agitations.

Last week the workers embarked on a sit down strike to protest the move.

Management of the facility has now decided to suspend the exercise after a crunch meeting with the workers.

Dr. Bani Banison, the Head of the Pathology Unit at the Tamale Teaching Hospital said management has decided to solve the problem in house and help the laboratory become effective.

The hospital is expected to release an official statement on its latest decision today.
