Tamale NPP youth supports Bawumia

Tamale, Aug. 22, GNA – A youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) calling itself “Advocates of Nana’s Ideal Partner” has pledged to rally behind Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, running mate to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, NPP flag bearer, to win the December election convincingly. At a press briefing in Tamale on Thursday, Mr. Adam Samed, chairman of the group, expressed members’ delight at the selection of Dr. Bawumia and said the choice would give the NPP a landslide victory.

Mr Samed described Dr Bawumia as a generous person who had sponsored vacation classes for students from the Northern Region and appealed to the youth to support Dr Bawumia and the NPP to win the election.

He urged NPP members to ensure that Dr. Bawumia’s choice as running mate would unify the party more than ever before and asked the party supporters not to allow any internal conflict to divide their ranks. He said Dr. Bawumia’s selection was just not only to ensure electoral success of the party but also as a source of encouragement to the youth and a testimony to the good intentions of the of NPP towards young people.

“Dr. Bawumia is a loyal member of the party and possesses an extraordinary charisma, sound academic background and a rich knowledge of the economy, necessary attributes to ensure victory at the poll.” Mr. Alhassan Addow, Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP who chaired the event, expressed gratitude to the youth for supporting the flag bearer and the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party for the choice of Dr. Bawumia as the running mate.
