Suspected thief lynched for snatching lady’s bag

Kumasi, Sept. 4, GNA — A man believed to be in his 30’s was on Sunday lynched when he allegedly snatched a handbag from a lady who was believed to be returning from church service near the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) office at Asafo in Kumasi.

The body of the suspect was still lying at the spot where the incident took place when the Ghana News Agency got to the scene on Monday morning.

Information pieced together by the GNA indicated that the suspect was pursued by a mob who meted out instant justice to him after they had given him a hot chase and arrested him.

This was after the lady whose bag was snatched raised the alarm. When contacted the Zongo Divisional Police Command said the incident was yet to be reported to their outfit.
