Mr Abdulai Aziz, a 24- year old student of Bawku Senior High school on Wednesday night sustained injuries in the arm from a stray bullet at Zongo, a suburb of Bawku in the Bawku Municipality in the Upper East Region
According to Chief Superintendent Defetor Degbetor, Divisional Police Commander, the shooting started at about 19.00 hours at Zongo and Sabon Kudey in Bawku Township but was brought under control.
He said efforts were being made to restore calm in the area.
Meanwhile the student, a native of Bolgatanga, is responding to treatment at the Bawku Hospital.
