STC security officer arraigned for stealing fuel

Ho, Dec 07, GNA – Agbalekpor Seth, a security officer of the a State Transport Corporation (STC) in the Ho, was on Tuesday put before a Ho Circuit Court for siphoning 13 gallons of diesel worth 378,000 cedis from one of the company’s buses at the STC terminus in Ho. In the dock with Agbalekpor, 56, was his son Agbalekpor Martin, 19, for abetment of crime.

Father and son pleaded not guilty.

Inspector Emmanuel Okudzeto of the Volta Regional Police Headquarters told the Court presided over by Mr Daniel Mensah that for some time the authorities had been concerned about fuel shortages on its buses from Ho.

He said on November 13, some bystanders saw the accused person siphoning fuel from a bus.

Inspector Okudzeto said Agbalekpor gave the fuel to his son to be sent home without knowing that he was being trailed by some of those who saw him.

The authorities were hinted and they followed up to Agbalekpor’s house and retrieved the fuel with the help of the police.
