Small scale miners arrested over grave digging

Three small scale miners have been arrested for allegedly attempting to dig up a grave with another suspect who is on the run—apparently so they could use for ritual purposes.

The suspects according to Rainbow Radio’s reporter Abdul Malik Anokye; were compelled by one Mallam Benin aka ‘You Can’t Challenge’ to dig the grave of a dead person, remove some parts so he use them to perform rituals for them.

The four had gone to see the Mallam to help them make more money from their small scale mining activities.

The incident occurred at Manso a suburb in the Ashanti region. The suspects, Kwabena Nyarko aka Kobby 17, Alex Donkor aka Cadre 31, Atinga David alias Gabby, 26 and Suleman Allotey aka Accra Boy, 40 acting upon the instructions given them went to the cemetery to dig the grave, remove the toes, nails and other parts of the body.

They were however unlucky as a resident had mobilized some residents in the area after suspecting they had planned to dig the grave.

The three were caught after carrying out their act but the youngest among them managed to escape
