Sissalas and Dagaabas asked to give peace a chance

Mr. Moses Luri Dramani, District Chief Executive for Sissala West in the Upper west Region, has appealed to Sissalas and Dagaabas in the Buwaa Traditional Area, to promote peace and security for development.

The call came in the wake of the loss of human life at Nimoro in the area, as a result of clashes between two groups over land ownership and use last year.

Mr. Dramani, who was addressing the first ordinary session of the Sissala West Assembly at Gwollu, tasked the people to cooperate with security agencies, to maintain law and order.

The Presiding Member of the assembly, Mr. William Tengviel, called on the members to unite for the development of the area.

He said action was being expedited on the provision of a police station at Fielmua, to help combat crime in the district.

Mr. Tengviel called for the formulation of effective social policies, to protect children against parental neglect and exploitation such as child labour.**
