Sekyere Kumawu Assembly Empowers Persons with Disabilities

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Kumawu Assembly, Hon. Kwasi Amankwah, has presented financial support and essential items to 100 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across the district. The initiative aims to promote inclusivity and empower PWDs to live with dignity and contribute to their communities’ growth.

A total of Gh¢ 100,000 was disbursed to 35 PWDs, with each receiving Gh¢ 2,000 to support their businesses. Additionally, 15 beneficiaries received medical assistance, while 20 students, including those in special schools and training colleges, received educational support.

The DCE emphasized that the gesture is part of the Assembly’s efforts to create an equitable society where everyone can thrive. He noted that the support has brought renewed hope and determination to the beneficiaries.

Madam Regina Ampomaa, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, commended the government for increasing the disabilities fund and urged the beneficiaries to utilize the support effectively to improve their livelihoods.
