Security man jailed one month for stealing from his company

Tema, Dec. 19, GNA – Alex Kugblenu, a security man, who stole three boxes of mosquito coil belonging to his employers, has been sentenced to a month’s imprisonment in hard labour by the Tema Magistrate court. He pleaded guilty to stealing and was convicted on his own plea. The prosecutor, Sergeant Louise Amegbletor, told the court, presided over by Mr Sernyo Amedahe, that on October 22, this year the Managing Director of Eagle Crown Industry, producers of smokeless Mosquito coil based in Tema, visited the company around 0230 hours and saw Kugblenu with a box of coil trying to push it over the fence wall whiles other two boxes were on the ground.

When questioned, Kugblenu confessed stealing them and said he had intended to send it to the market for sale the following morning, the court heard.

A report was made to the Police and Kugblenu was arrested.
