Second-year student of Nsutaman Secondary School drowns

Nsuta (Ash), April 28, GNA- Master Gavor Woenyefia, a second year student of the Nsutaman Catholic Secondary School near Asante-Mampong last Wednesday got drowned in the Tadie stream at Nsuta. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Emmanuel Arzah, the Mampong Divisional Crime Officer, who briefed the Ghana News Agency on the incident, said it happened when Woenyefia tried to swim in the stream.

He said the deceased joined his colleagues who went to the stream to wash their clothes.

ASP Arzah said the deceased who thought the stream was not deep enough jumped into it but got drowned as he was not a good swimmer. He said the police were later informed about the incident and therefore went and removed the body from the stream and deposited it at the Mampong district hospital for autopsy.
