Second Lady donates to La General Hospital

Accra, March 21, GNA – The wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama has presented essential hospital items to the La General Hospital and the Maamobi Polyclinic, in Accra.

The items included hospital beds, mattresses, hoists, rollators, wheel chairs, toilet chairs, walking racks, auxiliary crutches, seat pillows, blankets and hospital uniforms.

The second lady who personally donated the items said it was intended to complement government’s effort to provide quality health care to the people.

“Unfortunately, at some point in our lives, every one of us will surely require medical attention. Our hospitals and other health centres must therefore be well-resourced to provide us with the care that we need and desire,” she stressed.

She urged the management of the two health care facilities to endeavour to provide patients with good quality care, adding, “I believe that the items presented by my group- the Alternative Source of Income Programme (ASOIP) will help. your activities and also benefit patients.”

ASOIP, is a non-governmental organisation of Mrs. Mahama’s, working in partnership with an Israeli group, called, Israel to the Nations. The two organisations would donate drugs and othe r hospital items to some health centres in the Brong Ahafo Region. These include 20 hospital beds and mattresses, two washing beds, three hoists, 49 rollators, 60 wheel chairs, 10 shower seats, 10 toilet chairs and six walking racks.

The rest are 100 auxiliary crutches, three elbow crutches, one infusion stand, 10 seat pillows, blankets and 1000 hospital uniforms.
