Scrap dealer remanded for robbing a lady

Joseph Ganyo Okine, a scrap dealer on Friday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly robbing a lady of her handbag containing a laptop, a mobile phone, cheque book and other personal effects.

Okine charged for unlawful entry and robbery has denied the offence.

The court presided over by Mr. Aboagye Tandoh remanded him into Police custody to reappear on September 7.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector P. O. Yeboah told the court that the complainant was Gladys Dedei Teiko a trader, who resides at Dansoman, whiles the accused person resides at Fadama in Accra.

On May 3, this year, at about 03:00 hours, whiles the complainant and a witness in the case were in their room, Okine, armed with a machete unlawfully entered the room.

Chief Inspector Yeboah said Okine threatened Gladys to hand over her Rlg Laptop and Samsung Mobile phone to him else he would slash her into pieces.

According to the prosecutor, Okine also took away Gladys brown bag containing her cheque book and personal effects and bolted.

On May 7, this year, Okine committed a similar offence and he was arrested. The Police informed Gladys and she identified Okine at the Police station as the one who robbed her of the laptop, mobile phone, cheque book and other personal effects.
