Sam George’s suspension nullified

The National Executive Committee of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has quashed a directive suspending the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Ningo-Prampram constituency, StarrFMonline.com has learnt.

Sam George was suspended by the Greater Accra regional secretariat of the Umbrella family for misconduct. He is alleged to have publicly insulted and accused the greater Accra regional executives of bias in the party’s November parliamentary primaries. A letter suspending him said he had violated disciplinary rules and regulations of the ruling party.

However, national executives of the party say the decision by the Accra secretariat was not ratified by the national office. A deputy general secretary of the party Koku Anyidoho earlier told Starr News the decision did not reflect the position of the national body.

StarrFMonline.com understands that general secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia today, Monday December 7 told the media that the suspension of George has been overturned.
