Robbers invade five houses at Gbawe

Accra, Aug. 8, GNA – Six armed men in the early hours of Friday robbed five different houses at Palas Town at North Gbawe and stole millions of cedis and personal effects.

Among them was the house of the General Overseer of the Valley of Grace International Ministry at Mamprobi.

Narrating the incident to the GNA, Ms Bertha Attitianti, one of the victims, said at about 0300 hours, she heard sporadic gunshots but thought it was the Police that were on operation. A few minutes after, six armed men invaded their house and demanded monies and jewellery.

Ms Attitianti said soon after handing over all the monies and jewellery and other personal belongings, the armed men subjected them to severe beatings.

Not satisfied with the booty, they further attempted to rape the women.

One of the victims who got his ear chopped off because of his reluctance to give out his belongings is receiving treatment at a clinic at Odorkor.

A complaint has been lodged at the Odorkor Police Station. Sergeant Nana Anto, an officer on duty at the Odorkor Police station, confirmed the story and said the robbery was being investigated.
