Half Assini (W/R), July 7, GNA – Mr Martin Y. Ackah, Jomoro District Chief Executive, has called on religious leaders to educate members of their churches and organisations to be tolerant of divergent views in the run-up to the December elections.
He made the call at a meeting with 34 religious leaders in the district at Half Assini on Tuesday.
Mr Ackah further urged religious leaders to educate their members and the general public on voting procedures to ensure trouble free elections.
He said now is the time for both religious leaders and the public to be disciplined so as to safeguard the peace and development the country is currently enjoying.
Mr R. A. Acheampong, the District Co-ordinating Director, asked the religious leaders to involve their members in the district sanitation programme.
Mr T. T. Quarm, District Director of Non-Formal Education Division, briefed the meeting about the National Health Insurance Scheme.
