Regional Minister urges Christians to return NPP to power.

Bolgatanga, Jan. 5, GNA – The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr Mahami Salifu has appealed to Christians to vote for the NPP government in this year’s elections.

He said to avoid dictatorial governments Christians have the opportunity to call on God to intervene, since “the Voice of the people is the voice of God.”

Mr Salifu said this when he joined worshipers at the Fountain Gate chapel in Bolgatanga on Sunday in special prayers to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the fourth republic.

Mr Salifu said the NPP government, headed by President Kufuor, is God fearing, accommodating and reconciliatory, and is always prepared to ask for forgiveness where it has gone wrong, unlike others that had come and gone.

He urged Ghanaians to come out massively to vote because “if you fail to exercise your rights, undeserving people will rule you.” The deputy Minister of Ports and Harbours, Dr Ageseka Agambilla, charged the congregation to commit the country to God for a peaceful campaign and elections.

The Reverend East Wood Anaba, General overseer of Fountain Gate Chapel, called on Christians to seek the Kingdom of heaven instead of acquiring wealth on earth where they were only residing for a short while.
