Rainstorm destroys school in Brong Ahafo

Nkrankwanta (B/A), May 10, GNA – A rainstorm that hit Nkrankwanta near Dormaa-Ahenkro has caused extensive damage to property worth millions of cedis. The worst hit was the town’s Presbyterian Junior Secondary School that was in a bad shape before the storm.

The Assemblyman for the area, Mr. Charles Adomah, said pupils of the school were often asked to go home whenever it threatened to rain. He said the situation could impact negatively on academic work of the school and appealed to the Dormaa District Assembly, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), well-meaning persons in the area as well as the Nkrankwanta community to come to the aid of the school for academic work to continue.
