Ghana midfielder Rahim Ibrahim has extended his contract with Slovan Bratislava until the end of the 2029/30 season, pledging to repay the club’s confidence with his performances.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has agreed a four-year extension after making an impressive start to the campaign. His consistent displays have helped him become an increasingly important member of the Slovakian club’s squad.
Ibrahim, who previously played for Accra Lions, said he was grateful for the faith Slovan Bratislava had shown in him and was determined to justify the investment made in his development.
“I am very happy and grateful for the trust the club has shown in me. I am ready to give my all and repay what Slovan has invested in me,” Ibrahim said.
The midfielder also spoke about his close relationship with Bratislava and his affection for representing the club in its blue colours.
“I already see Bratislava as my home. I have experienced wonderful moments in the Slovan jersey, and I believe that more are yet to come,” he added.
“I am always excited when I run out onto the pitch in the blue jersey and hear the cheering of our great fans. I am extremely looking forward to the continuation of this blue chapter.”
Ibrahim has played 13 matches in all competitions for Slovan Bratislava this season, scoring two goals as his influence within the team has continued to grow.
His new club agreement comes after he received his first senior call-up for Ghana. He was included in the Black Stars squad for their opening two 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Cote d’Ivoire and The Gambia.
However, Ibrahim’s senior international debut remains outstanding after he stayed on the bench throughout the recent international break.
Ghana lost both matches during that period. They were beaten 2-0 by Cote d’Ivoire in Bouake before suffering a 4-2 defeat by The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium.
With his future in Slovakia now settled, Ibrahim will aim to sustain his form for Slovan Bratislava while pushing for another opportunity with Ghana.
The long-term contract provides the midfielder with stability at club level as he seeks further success in Slovakia and continues to work towards making his first appearance for the Black Stars.
