Queenmother appeals to Gender Ministry

Naa Teinor Osaayelor I, Dzaase-Nye of Osu Kinka We, has appealed to the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to assist the Osu Traditional Council to renovate the Osu Social Centre.

The four-room centre, which was hitherto used to train the youth to acquire skills in electronics was gutted by fire about six years ago and had since been neglected and now occupied by squatters.

Naa Teinor Osaayelor made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday after inspecting the building.

She said the facility must be renovated and used in training the youth in batik and tie and dye, sowing and hair-dressing, among others, to enable them to have decent lifestyles and reduce idleness and teenage pregnancy in the community.

It would also generate revenue for the traditional council.

Naa Teinor Osaayelor said the Ministry could help them with building materials whilst the traditional council provides training materials.
