Mr. Godfred Axolu, Nkoranza Municipal Director of Education, has said provision of quality education for the youth depended on the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders.
He said there was the need for parents and teachers to collaborate to promote discipline to enhance teaching and learning.
Mr. Axolu was addressing staff and Interim Management Committee (IMC) members of the Donkro-Nkwanta Senior High School (SHS), a private second-cycle school in the Nkoranza Municipality.
He commended the chief of the town, Nana Owusu Akyaw Brempong II, for organizing his people to establish the school to make SHS education accessible and affordable to the youth in the area.
Mr Axorlu praised the communal self-help spirit of the people and e urged them to remain focused and assist the school to grow.
Mr. Michael Wiredu-Kusi, the acting Headmaster of the school, said a year of its establishment, the school had a student population of 138, comprising 90 boys and 48 girls.
Mr. Wiredu-Kusi expressed appreciation to the National Service Secretariat for posting 10 service personnel to support teaching and learning in the school.
He pleaded with the Municipal Director of Education and the Nkoranza Municipal Assembly to advocate for government to absorb the school into the public system to complement the efforts of the community.
The Assemblyman of the area, Mr. Nicholas Kwabena Wiafe, urged residents to support the National Service Personnel, particularly for their welfare and survival to sustain their interest in the area.
Mr. Wiafe also called on non-resident citizens of the area to visit home and support the SHS project to move the education of the community forward.
The traditional authority has allocated an 80-acre land as permanent site for the school.
