Pupils begin school

Hohoe, Sept. 11, GNA-Fifteen pupils and 18 toddlers enrolled for class one and kindergarten respectively on Tuesday at the Hohoe District Assembly Experimental School, for the commencement of the academic year, which coincided with the new educational reforms.

The kindergarten pupils who were neatly dressed listened with rapt attention to Mrs. Gladys Baku, Director In-Charge of Girl-Child Education at the Hohoe District Directorate of The Ghana Education Service in a shed clad with palm mats which served as their classroom. Mrs Baku was giving the pupils a brief orientation talk at the time the Ghana News Agency visited the School at 1000 hours. Mrs. Millicent Sracoo, the kindergarten teacher appealed to the District Assembly to expedite action on the classroom to facilitate the admission of prospective pupils. The exercise was christened; “My First Day at School.” 11 Sept. 07
