Mr Emmanuel Tawiah Quaye, Founder and Proprietor of Psalm School of Hope (PSOH), has advised parents and guardians to make their children’s education their number one priority.
He said the investment made in their children’s education would make them fruitful in future.
He also cautioned students to “make hay while the sun shines” and seize every opportunity presented to them as their road map to excellence in their academic life.
Mr Tawiah Quaye was speaking at the 10th anniversary of the school, a private school situated at Pantang-Brema Bukom in the Greater Accra Region, at the weekend on the theme: “Quality Education for Better Future.”
The day was also used to mark the seventh graduation ceremony and the third speech and prize giving day.
“Students, this is the right time to make hay while the sun is shining, therefore seize every opportunity, efforts and advise your teachers and parents give you to build your own educational success because your lives are in your own hands and it starts now from PSOH,” he said.
Mr Tawiah Quaye said the motive for establishing the school was to help the needy in the Pantang community as well as surrounding towns and villages.
He said the school which was established on June 14 2004, with only one student called Richard Nuekon Adzei could now boast of 200 students.
Mr Tawiah Quaye said so far more than 3000 students have passed through PSOH and excelling in their academic pursuit.
He called on Ghana Education Service and other stakeholders to help the school with textbooks to boost enrolment.
Mr Tawiah Quaye also expressed the need for the school to be hooked onto the Ghana School Feeding Programme to benefit brilliant but needy students.
Mrs Nicholina A Ladzekpo, Regional Manager Regency Alliance Insurance Limited and Board Chairman of PSOH noted that from a humble beginning the school had strived to train young children into visionary adults.
“For five years, I have observed that what the heart decides to do, with perseverance and determination it is far more achievable and PSOH is not different from that,” she said.
She said it had always been the hallmark and motto of staff, board of directors and non-teaching staff of PSOH to train and raise students with love and unity to make their education a success.
Mrs Ladzekpo said: “Let us come together and build a better future for these young ones, the community and nation at large by investing in our children’s education because they are our future as investment in these little ones will go a long way to help parents, the community and the nation.”
Certificates and awards were presented to deserving students, staff, parents, board of directors and the proprietor of the school.
