Prez Mahama to tour flood areas

President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to tour Ghana’s capital city, Accra, to see for himself the extent of damage Thursday’s downpour has caused.

The downpour, which lasted almost the whole day, forced hundreds out of their homes while commercial activities were brought to a standstill.

President Mahama is expected to be joined by the Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Kofi Portuphy, the Greater Accra Region Minister, Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, and the Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Dr. Alfred Nii Oko Vanderpuije.

The delegation is expected to be at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Teshie, Dansoman and Ashaiman, areas hard hit by the floods.
