Pregnant woman kidnapped, forced into delivery

A Tema-based pregnant woman was on Thursday kidnapped and made to deliver her baby under duress.

Rukaya Zakaria, who lives in the Kpone Katamanso community in the Greater Accra region, is reported to have been returned to her home by the kidnappers after they took her baby boy out of her.

Her brother Abubakar Mohhamed Outtara told Accra-based Citi FM she was kidnapped around 4:30am on Thursday and returned to her home by 9:30pm that same day.

“So they forced her into labour, she delivered a baby boy and they took the baby away.

“Two macho men and one lady kidnapped her, put her in the car and drove away to God knows where they drove to. And they brought her back around 9:30pm,” he stated emphatically.

Ahead of the incident, Zakaria had her last pre-natal check up at the hospital on Tuesday where the doctors informed her she was due and could deliver any day from that day.
