Mr. Kofi Asamoah, General Secretary of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), has stated a government under his party would do everything possible to avoid judgment debts in order to channel the state resources into areas that would expand the economy.
He said the PPP would invest in areas that would expand the economy and create more jobs for the unemployed youth in the country.
The PPP General Secretary, who said this during the launch of Mr. James Sohimwinye, the PPP Parliamentary candidate’s campaign for the Wa Central Constituency at Wa, called on Ghanaians to show the National Democratic Congress (NDC) the exit and bring the PPP to power.
He said Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, the PPP flag-bearer and the party’s parliamentary candidates across the country were business minded people who knew how to turn the country’s dwindling economy around.
He appealed to Ghanaians to vote them into power in order for the party’s government to strengthen the governance structures of the country to bring the needed development.
Mr. Asamoah reminded the NDC that a second term in office was not automatic as perceived by its supporters but rather performance based, saying the NDC judging from its performance so far did not deserve a second term in office.
He said a PPP government would make education free and compulsory from Kindergarten to Senior High School (SHS).
The party, he said, would also construct first class highways across the country to boost economic activities.
Mr. Sohimwinye said lack of quality leadership had caused the economy to grow at a slow pace, noting that the PPP Government would strengthen state institutions and increase revenue to finance health and education for the Ghanaians to benefit.
He said the PPP Government would also increase vocational schools to train the youth to gain self-employable skills to make a meaningful living.**
