Police visit families of women slain in Dansoman shooting incident

Accra, April 23, GNA – The Greater Accra Regional Police Command, led by the Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police Douglas Asiedu on Saturday visited the families of the two women killed in a police shooting incident at Dansoman, a suburb of Accra last Friday. A statement issued in Accra on Sunday by the Regional Command said Mr Asiedu expressed his sincere condolence to the bereaved families, but however, assured the two families that the Police would do everything possible to unravel the circumstances that lead to their death.

The Regional Commander urged them to assist the police with the necessary information to speed up investigation into the matter. He also appealed to the bereaved families and the general public to remain calm and not to resort to acts of violence, while thorough investigations are being conducted on the issue.

The statement said among the commander’s entourage were the Deputy Regional Commander, ACP Jonathan Yakubu, the Regional Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent Bright Oduro, the Dansoman Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Christian Dedzo, the Dansoman District Commander, Superintendent Ebenezer Addo, and the Dansoman Crime Officer, Superintendent P.K. Osei.
