Plan well for your retirement, teachers urged.

Mr Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, a retired educationist, has urged workers to develop a “Retirement Plan” while in active service so as to enjoy a decent living during retirement.

He said there was the need to invest in their children through the provision of quality education to become responsible future leaders of the country.

“When children acquire gainful employment, they would look after the parents in old age to serve as the results and toil of their labour.”

Mr Agyemang-Badu, former Nkoranza District Director of Education, was sharing his experience with the staff of the Nkoranza South Municipal Directorate of Education at Nkoranza.

He said teachers could undertake some income generation activities or farming to support their income during pension and at the same time cultivate the habit of saving and join credit unions.

Mr Agyemang-Badu advised teachers to take advantage of the various learning and educational programmes to upgrade themselves to meet the challenges of globalization for the development of the country.
