Photos: Mahama launches achievement book

President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday launched a book dubbed “Accounting to the People” at the Banquet Hall, State House, which captures all the achievements of his government.

The President at the event briefed the nation on progress made so far on the execution of the mandate bestowed on him by the Ghanaians in 2012, a statement signed by Communications Minister Edward Omane Boamah said.

This event “forms part of efforts to deepen transparency and accountability in governance as reflected in the fourth pillar of the 2012 NDC manifesto.”

He said “development occurs within space and time, and so very often it’s not easy to comprehend that development is taking place because if you live in, say Chorkor, and there is a hospital being built in Nungua, you might not have the consciousness that health care is improving.

And so what I’ve tried to do with this book is to bring an overview of what we’ve been doing in the whole country over the period of our governance. Accounting to the people brings together in one space and volume, major highlights of what we have achieved so far as a government.”
