Pentecost Church building destroyed

Akim Anyinam, Sept 14, GNA – The Church of Pentecost building at Akim Anyinam in the East Akim District, was in the early hours of Wednesday partially pulled down by a petrol tanker with registration number GT 6939 N, travelling from Kumasi towards Accra.

The name of the driver was not immediately available.

According to Police Inspector Motor Traffic Unit, Mr John Marfo, the driver had been rushed for admission at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching hospital in Kumasi and investigations are going on.

Mr John Otchere, an eye-witness, told the Ghana News Agency that two church members, Kofi Peprah, 25 and David Kwaku Attah, 27, who were sleeping in the building when the incident occurred, however, escaped unhurt.

The Deaconess of the Church, Mrs Rosemond Dansoa Asare, who confirmed the story said the cost of the damage would run into millions of cedis.
