Parliamentary aspirant donates ambulance to District

Dr Du-Awia Zakaria, Parliamentary aspirant in the Mion Constituency race has presented an ambulance to the regent of Mion for onward presentation to the health directorate to improve healthcare delivery.

Dr Zakaria who made the presentation at Mion at the weekend told the media that the it became necessary because the health centre lacked the necessary logistics and equipment to operate effectively as a district health centre.

He said it was laughable and a ridicule to the elite in the district that a motor-tricycle ambulance was the only means to transport sick persons including pregnant women in labour saying, “Though I am not holding position in government, the little resources at my disposal is used to help improve conditions in the area”.

He said the Mion district had been without a stationery medical officer in charge of all the communities across the district and the need for such important medical service was critical, hence the need to source for the ambulance.

He said he had always been helping the constituents in health screen and registering some of the on the National Health Insurance Scheme to enable them access healthcare in the district.

Dr Zakaria said the incumbent MP had played his part and that there was the need for change saying, “The Constitution allows the President a two-term in government, which means that eight years is enough for one to finish with his development agenda.

Dr Zakaria said the current MP had been in position for 12 years, and claimed that the incumbent had performed abysmally, which led to many people contesting against him, and that he (Zakaria) was the only alternative to the current MP to champion the development of the constituency.
