The intervention of Parliament in the payment of ex-gratia to some former personnel of the Ghana National Petroleum Commission (GNPC) including Tsatsu Tsikata, will put to rest the fuss about the case, Ben Ephson has said.
He’s argued a probe by the legislature is critical, as he opined that parliament is more likely to make good judgment on it.
He told sit-in host Serwaa Akoto on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM that although the former Mines and Energy Minister under erstwhile Kufuor administration, K.T Hammond had his own issues on the controversial sale of the Drill ship, the concern raised by him (K.T Hammond) is of a public interest.
The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) on Wednesday appeared before the Parliamentary Select Committee on Mines and Energy to answer questions surrounding the payment.
GNPC announced on Monday that its board had approved the payment of ex-gratia to the four, including the former CEO, Tsatsu Tsikata, Nana Boakye Asafu-Adjaye (Ag. Chief Executive), Mr. Benjamin Dagadu (Field Evaluation and Development Manager and Mrs. Esther Cobbah, former Public Affairs Manager, in which Mr. K.T Hammond has raised serious concerns about such payment.
