Oppong-Nkrumah wins Offoase Ayirebi

Entrepreneur and former radio show host, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, is expected to be declared winner of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate of the opposition NPP.

Oppong Nkrumah garnered some 219 votes out of the 419 votes that were cast, his closest rival John Obiri Yeboah managed 145 votes whiles the last contestant Bright Asamoah Acquah got 54 votes.

Kojo ahead of the polls expressed high hopes of winning the race after a month long campaign during which time he touched base with the grassroots and presented them with his vision of jobs and education.

The incumbent Kusi Oppong had announced that he was not seeking re-election and that open the seat up to three people without prior parliamentary experience.
