Oko Vanderpuije will not resign – NDC MP

Nii Amasah Namoale, Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dadekotopon says Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije should not resign from his position.

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” programme, Hon. Namoale told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that the Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive has done nothing wrong to hand over his working tools.

According to him, the country’s recent misfortune should not be put at the doorsteps of the Mayor because he has been executing his duties quite efficiently.

“Oko Vanderpuije; don’t resign, don’t resign! You have done nothing wrong,” he said.

He recounted that the money for the Conti project has not yet been released for the Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive to construct proper drainage systems in the capital city.

But that notwithstanding, he added, city authorities have been distilling culverts in the capital to avoid flooding.

This, to him, symbolizes the hard work that the Mayor, city authorities and the government have been doing.
