Nyenkyenkye to be connected electricity grid

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), March 22, GNA – Nana Emmanuel Duku, the acting Dormaa District Chief Executive, has stated that the district assembly would not relent in ensuring that all communities obtain their fair share of development projects.

The DCE asked the people to attach importance to government programmes and policies that are designed to improve their standard of living.

Nana Duku was addressing a meeting of the people at Nkyenkyenkye, near Dormaa-Ahenkro to discuss the extension of electric power to the community.

He assured the community that the fourth phase of the Self-Help Electrification Project (SHEP), which covers the community would take off soon, to resolve the problem.

Nana Duku deplored the non-existence of the unit committee in the area, the unnecessary criticism of contractors working on projects and appealed to the people to allow them to work in peace to complete before subjecting them to public scrutiny and assessment.

Mr Felix William Aning, chairman of the electrification project, announced that the Nkenkyenkye community has acquired 50 electric poles valued at 25 million cedis with contributions from land lords and appealed to the district assembly to provide the community with the remaining materials for the project.
