Nyakrom Omanhene advices NPP aspirants to avoid disunity

Agona Nyakrom, (C/R), May 11, GNA – The Paramount Chief of Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area, Nana Okofo Katakyi Nyarkoh Eku X, has advised the New patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirants to avoid politics of insults, conflicts and disunity in their campaign.

He said “they should rather focus on issues that would convince the polling station executives, council of elders and other founding members to vote for them on the August 7, 2012 Presidential primary.” Nana Nyarkoh Eku said this when Mr Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten, NPP Presidential Aspirant, paid a courtesy call on him at Agona Nyakrom as part of his campaign tour of the Central Region.

He said when they engaged in maligning, character assassination and acrimony against each other it would create rancour and disunity among the polling station executives and other members of the party. Nana Nyarkoh Eku assured Mr Kyeremanten that though chiefs were not to actively get involved in politics they would cooperate and welcome any political party officials who would call on them.

Mr Kyeremanten had earlier had discussion with polling station executives at Agona Nsaba in the Agona East and Breman Asikuma. Mr Kyeremanten called on the polling station executives to vote for an enterprising and visionary leader like him to lead the party, adding that taking power from NDC was not a joke and needed somebody would be attractive to floating voters.

He said NPP wanted to come back to power and they should not make a mistake to choose a weak candidate who could be rejected by Ghanaians in 2012 elections.
