Jasikan (V/R), May 2, GNA-Mr. Solomon Donkor, Jasikan District Chief Executive, on Wednesday said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was now poised than ever before to capture the Buem Parliamentary Seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He said the Party had identified the mistakes made during the previous elections and was getting prepared to grab the seat in the 2008 general elections.

Mr. Donkor said this at a fund-raising rally organized by the Buem Constituency Executives of the party at Jasikan. The DCE observed that the NPP government had done a lot for the constituency in terms of development and called on the people to support the government for accelerated development of the area. He pledged to buy two motorbikes and twenty bicycles for the constituency to enable it sell the Party easier in the area for ” easy work in 2008″.

Mr. Peter Akotey, Constituency Chairman intimated that due to financial and logistic constraints, meetings were irregular, which was affecting information dissemination among others in the constituency. He therefore appealed for logistics to enable polling station executives in the constituency to step up the election campaign. A total of 70 million cedis was realized, in addition to the donation of a corn mill and a water-pumping machine.
