NPP MP: INEPTITUDE CAUSED OUR DEFEAT IN AKWATIA; LET’S EMBRACE COOPERATION OVER PERSONAL INTEREST

Former Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency and a national member of Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team, Hon. KINGSLEY ABOAGYE GYEDU, has stated that the constituents of Akwatia did not vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Instead, he attributes the party’s defeat in the by-election to the ineptitude of its national leadership.

Speaking in a one-on-one interview with Okyeame Radio’s morning show host, Kaakyire, Gyedu emphasized the need to prioritize collective interests over individual agenda.

He warned that if the party’s leadership continues its current approach, the NPP risks losing the 2028 elections, which could lead to disillusionment among supporters.

Gyedu also questioned the leadership’s motives behind adopting a top-down approach, especially in light of undisclosed findings from the committee’s report on the party’s loss in the 2024 elections.

He expressed concern over the sidelining of former President and party stalwart, H.E. JOHN AGYEKUM KUFUOR, in decision-making meetings. Gyedu noted that even those invited to such meetings are often heckled when attempting to contribute ideas.
