NPP MP fumes over Busia’s grave destruction

Kofi Ameyaw, Member of Parliament (MP) for Asuogyaman in the Eastern Region, has expressed outrage at the desecration of the grave of Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia, former Prime Minister of Ghana from 1969 to 1972 and a royal from the Wenchi Traditional area.

“I am saddened and outraged by the desecration of the grave of a man who served as my mentor and I have no doubt, the mentor of many million Ghanaians across Ghana and the rest of the world,” Hon. Osei Ameyaw has stated.

In a press release yesterday, Hon. Osei Ameyaw, a former Minister, Consul General and Lawyer, said that he read the publication in the Daily Graphic with horror.

The MP said after he read the publication he immediately called the family.

“I have spoken to the family and told them of my decision to fully fund the cost of repair and restoration of the grave to its former glory. I have not visited the Brong Ahafo region but would be doing so shortly to speak to the family, the chiefs and the people on how we can best honour the memory of this great man of Ghana at this time,” Hon. Osei Ameyaw stated.
