NPP lawyers snub Sir John; refuse to plead on his behalf

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, also known as Sir John, is currently languishing in an “Isolation Ward”, as he continues to make a pariah out of himself after recklessly and contemptuously raining unprintable insults on the learned Justices of the Supreme Court of Ghana, in the wake of the jailing of Ken “Opete” Kuranchie, for being in contempt of the same court.

Realising that the Supreme Court is readying itself to haul him before it after his name had been mentioned in open court last Monday, Sir John is reported to have approached Lawyers Addison and Akoto-Ampaw to lead him into chambers to plead with the Justices to tamper justice with mercy.

According to information reaching this paper, Sir John has been on his knees begging the two NPP lawyers to escort him into Chambers to beg the learned Justices to have mercy upon him.

Because both lawyers led Sammy Awuku into Chambers to plead when he threw the first “stone” at the learned Justices, Sir John was also hoping that they will do same for him; but he was not getting any positive response.

According to this paper’s sources close to the NPP Legal Team, Lawyers Addison and Akoto-Ampaw have given a definite “NO” answer to Sir John; indicating that they are not prepared to sacrifice their professional integrity on the altar of the idiocy of persons who have decided to impugn the integrity of the highest court of the Land.

Lawyer Addison in particular, has made it abundantly clear to Sir John that, there is no way he can approach the learned Justices after making an emphatic statement in open Court that he will no longer plead on behalf of any person who will scandalise the court.

“If you have been following proceedings, you must have heard Addison say openly that he will no longer lead anybody to go and beg. So after that open declaration, do you think the Justices will take him serious if he approaches them?” the source told this paper.

“What is more annoying to the Legal Team is the fact that Sir John is a lawyer and should have known better. As for Akoto-Ampaw, he was so angry and has told Sir John not to ever approach the Legal Team to ask any of them to go with him to beg the Justices,” the source added.

“As for Gloria Akuffo, she does not even want to hear the name of Sir John because as far as she is concerned, he is a big disgrace to the legal fraternity and also a big albatross hanging around the neck of the NPP,” this Paper was told.

Daring to thoughtlessly spit in the face of the Supreme Court of Ghana, Sir John spared no moment to really abuse Justices, Atuguba, Gbadegbe, Anim-Yeboah, Baffoe-Bonnie, Akoto-Bamfo, Owusu Ansah, Dotse, and Adinyira.

Singling out Justice Atuguba in particular, apart from pouring heavy doses of insults on the learned Justice, Sir John stooped as low as attacking parts of the anatomy of the learned Justice.

From all indications, no lawyer worth his salt is prepared to lead Sir John to appear before learned Justices of the Supreme Court.

Not even Atta-Akyea is prepared to go back to the Supreme Court and make a nuisance of himself.
