Northern region NPP holds meeting to oust Afoko, Agyepong

There is heavy security presence at the Tamale Sports Stadium in the Northern region as over 600 delegates from the regional and constituency levels of the New Patriotic Party, have gathered to support calls for two top national executives, Paul Afoko (chairman) and Kwabena Agyepong (General Secretary) to be expelled from the party.

The crisis meeting currently underway, has seen opposing calls from party supporters, some beseeching the executives to spare the two national executives while others make strong arguments why they must be impeached, StarrFMonline.com has gathered.

Seven regions except – Ashanti, Upper East and Brong Ahafo – have passed a vote of no confidence in the beleaguered national chairman and the general secretary following their reported involvement in the killing of the Upper East regional chairman of the party Adams Mahama.

According to Starrfmonline.com sources in Tamale, the region’s resolve will be made known by close of day.
