No Political Transfers – Dr. Quartey

The Civil Service is determined to insulate itself from Political interference. As a result, it would not countenance requests by politicians to transfer civil servants.

Dr. Alex Glover-Quartey, Head of the Civil Service, gave this assurance at a meeting with Regional Heads of Department and their staff at Koforidua.

He warned, however, that he could not defend any head whose lack of duty consciousness would compel such a request.

He cautioned senior civil servants against indulging in negative tendencies likely to give suspicion about their loyalty to the government of the day.
