No one can unseat NPP in Navrongo Central – Koyiba

Navrongo (UE/R), July 19, GNA- Mr Godfred Koyiba, Upper East Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has predicted victory for Mr Kofi Adda, NPP Member of Parliament, in the Navrongo Central, who is seeking re-election in the 2004 polls.

Mr Adda, who won a bye-election, following the death of Mr John Setuni Achuliwor in a motor accident last year, is facing stiff opposition from contestants from other political parties and two independent candidates.

Mr Koyiba told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), in Navrongo at the weekend that the NPP would win the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in the Constituency.

“Even though the people trace their tradition to the People’s National Convention (PNC), the good works of the NPP have won their confidence”, he said.

Two members of the NPP, Mr Abdallah Otito Achuliwor, a younger brother of the late Mr Achuliwor and Mr Donald Amuah, a Social Worker are contesting the parliamentary slot as independent candidates. Mr Koyiba said the two candidates did not pose any serious threat to Mr Adda who has gone down in history as an MP who has accelerated the development of the area in less than three years.

He cited the provision of 13 grinding mills to women income generating groups and streetlights to Navrongo.
