No flooding in Accra after Thursday’s downpour

Flooding, which usually hits most parts of Accra whenever it rains, was absent after the down pour on Thursday.

Places visited by the Ghana News Agency include the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Bubiashie, Kaneshie and Darkuman. These places, which usually would have some flooding, recorded none at all.

Some have attributed the new development to efforts by stakeholders to construct drains and to desilt choked gutters.

However, the GNA observed that the Odaw River, which flows through the Graphic Road, was also almost filled to the brim although the heavy rainfall did not last long.
