NLA supports Ashanti police

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has presented an amount of GH¢ 37, 250 in support of the operation of the police in the Ashanti Region.

The money would be used to complete a structure being constructed for the regional police band.

Brigadier General Martin K. G. Ahiaglo (Rtd), Acting Director General of the NLA said the donation was in response to an appeal.

He was in Kumasi as part of his national tour to strengthen the performance of the Authority.

He applauded the police for the good job it was doing to rein in crime and called for increased assistance in the fight against illegal lotto operators.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Nathan Kofi Boakye, the Regional Commander thanked the NLA for the gesture and said it could not have come at a better time.

Brigadier General Ahiaglo, who was accompanied by top officials of the Authority was later taken on a guided tour of the regional police administration.
