Need for dialogue on pension issues – Adjei

Mr Bernard Adjei, Deputy General Secretary of the Public Services Workers Union (PSWU), on Friday said government and organised labour must come together to discuss the way forward on issues relating to pensions.

He said government and organised labour must work together in the spirit of goodwill and mutual co-operation to address outstanding issues relating to pensions.

Speaking at a meeting of the PSWU, Takoradi branch, Mr Adjei said workers were concerned about their pensions and so both government and organised labour must be transparent on pension issues.

He said there was the need for consultation and dialogue and government and labour must avoid taking entrenched positions.

There must be understanding between government and the unions about the management of the Tier Two Pension, he said.
